Partnerships

Action Réfugiés has met with success since 1994 due to the efforts and support of numerous partners over the past two decades

Foundations

We have received support from many foundations over the years. This support is critical as it allows us to build on our core funding and offer more services to our clients.

Recent donors include the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, the George Hogg Family Foundation, the Cole Foundation and the Thérèse Casgrain Foundation. ARM partners with foundations for general funding or more specific projects.

If you are affiliated with a foundation and would like to create a partnership with ARM, please contact the Executive Director.

Companies, community organization and faith groups

Many individual church congregations support us regularly with financial contributions, as well as offering volunteer support and publicizing our special events.

Many community organizations contact us to discuss ways to support our work. Recent donors include the Christie Bike Ride of the McGill University Faculty of Law, YELP Montreal and various choirs from the Montréal area.

We invite third-party fundraisers such as concerts, conferences and informational panels.

If you have an idea for a fundraiser, presentation or a partnership please contact the Executive Director to create a plan and ensure the funds collected are invested in the area(s) you wish to support.

Research and special reports

We collaborate with researchers from time to time and are ready to share our expertise. A few examples include a research project on the mental health effects of detention, a collaboration with Dr. Janet Cleveland. In 2014 we were the Montreal partners for a study by the Canadian Council for Refugees about the experience of asylum seekers in Canada in 2013.

Other possibilities

If you have another idea which is not listed here, please contact the Executive Director with an outline of your plan and the timeline anticipated.

We presented some aspects of our work to students from the Eastern Kentucky University. The professor told us : " Action Réfugiés provided exactly the kind of on the ground perspective and insight, not to mention straight talk, that I was hoping for for the students." ... See MoreSee Less
